Microbiotic is what Udo's calls these. You may know them as probiotics — here is why the word differs.
The format is the point
Everything else in this range is a capsule or a powder that goes straight past the mouth. This dissolves in it.
That makes it the option for anyone who cannot or will not swallow capsules — which covers a lot of children and a fair number of adults — and it needs no water, no measuring and no fridge-side routine at the moment of taking it.
It is also the only Udo's Choice microbiotic you would describe as pleasant to take.
Why xylitol rather than sugar
A lozenge has to taste of something, and the obvious sweetener would be sugar. This uses xylitol, a sugar alcohol, instead — so the product is sugar-free.
That matters more in a lozenge than it would in a capsule, because a lozenge sits in the mouth and dissolves slowly against the teeth. A sugar-sweetened one taken daily would be a different proposition.
A note on quantity: xylitol can have a laxative effect if a lot is consumed at once. Stick to the recommended intake.

The most concentrated single-strain weighting in the range — 60% L. acidophilus, against 45% in Super 8 Immune and 20% in the Adult's Blend.
Where it sits in the range
This is the lowest cell count of the seven, at 1 billion guaranteed. That is a deliberate consequence of the format rather than a lesser product: a lozenge cannot carry what an amber-glass capsule can.

Which figure to compare
Labels quote either the count at manufacture or the count guaranteed at the end of shelf life. Udo's declares both — 2 billion and 1 billion. Many products publish only the higher one without saying which it is.
How to take them
Allow one lozenge to dissolve slowly in the mouth. Do not chew or swallow it whole — the format is designed to dissolve.
Suitable for adults and children.
Common questions
Can children take these?
Yes. The lozenge format suits children who cannot manage capsules. Supervise young children, as with anything that dissolves in the mouth.
Are they actually sugar-free?
Yes — sweetened with xylitol rather than sugar.
Why is the cell count lower than the capsules?
A lozenge cannot hold what a capsule can. The trade is format for count.
Do they need refrigerating?
Store in a cool, dry place. Refrigeration preserves potency as with all live cultures.
What do they taste of?
Natural raspberry.
Can I take one alongside a capsule product?
Yes — check the total daily intake if you are taking more than one microbiotic.
Ingredients
Maltodextrin (diluent), xylitol (sweetening agent), microcrystalline cellulose (binder), natural raspberry flavours (flavouring), Lactobacillus acidophilus (HA-122) 60%, Lactobacillus salivarius (HA-118) 5%, ascorbic acid (antioxidant), citric acid (acidity regulator), magnesium stearate (emulsifier), Bifidobacterium bifidum (HA-132) 15%, silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent), Lactobacillus casei (HA-108) 15%, Lactobacillus rhamnosus (HA-111) 5%.
Gluten free. No added FOS (fructooligosaccharides). Contains traces of milk and soya which are used in the manufacturing process.
Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Excessive consumption of xylitol may have a laxative effect. Keep out of the reach of children.
